7 Fortnite Points That Can Teach You Most in Fast Essay Writing

If you havent been living under a rock for the last few years, you must have already heard about Fortnite. Even most people who have never played a video game in their life are probably aware of its existence by now. It would not be an exaggeration to say that Fortnite has ceased to be a simply extremely popular game and turned into a full-fledged socio-cultural phenomenon. You realize just how big it is when you take a look at how many people play Fortnite it reportedly has over 200 million players, making it currently one of the most popular video games in existence. So what is Fortnite, exactly? In this article, we primarily speak about Fortnite Battle Royale, one of its three game modes that is primarily responsible for the resounding success of the franchise. As is clear from its name, it belongs to the currently extremely popular battle-royale genre basically, a free-for-all battle for up to 100 participants. The battle is held in a limited and constantly shrinking playable area, which gradually forces players to move closer to each other. The match continues until there is only one man left standing. Epic Games, the developer who makes Fortnite, wasnt the one who invented the genre or even popularized it. The genre itself is based on the 2000 Japanese film Battle Royale, and the game that made it popular was PlayerUnknowns Battlegrounds or PUBG for short. Unfortunately for its creators, PUBG was and still is plagued with bugs, cheaters, hackers, lags, graphics glitches, and other issues. If you ask yourself When did Fortnite come out?, you will see that it managed to ride the popularity of its predecessors gathering many players disillusioned by PUBG and offering a more polished, stylistically-appealing and, last but not the least, free-to-play experience. Taking into account how many students play Fortnite, one would think that it can be a major drain on their productivity in school and college. But how would you react if we say that in addition to the fun you have playing Fortnite has a lot to teach you about studying in general and fast essay writing in particular? You will probably say that it is just wishful thinking. Well, consider what we have to say before laughing it off, okay? 🔠¥ 1) Fortnite Teaches You to Make the Best of Your Situation At the start of every match, players are randomly dropped across the island and have to scour their surroundings for weapons and resources. You have very limited control over where you are going to drop and no way of knowing what resources you will have to work with. It calls for inventive strategies and creative use of the limited tools you have at your disposal. The same goes for essay writing. Even if you know how to write an essay of this or that type, you may end up with a topic you dont want to have anything to do with or a subject you cant find any information about. So, the next time you get into this kind of trouble, simply think about it as a match gone wrong and try to find a way to creatively use what little you have. âÅ" 2) It Teaches You to Be Patient in the Face of Failure How big is Fortnite player base? Youve already known that there are more than 200 million players. However, you should realize that different types of players spend a dramatically different amount of time in the game, with the members of the core player base (about 40 million of those who play at least once per month) playing much more than the rest of the community. Therefore, as a beginner, you are going to be pitted against much more experienced players who arent going to go easy on you. In the beginning, you should be ready to lose a lot. But from these failures, you are going to slowly accumulate experience necessary to be the best of the best among your opponents. Maintaining this approach calls for patience and the ability to learn from your mistakes exactly what you need to learn for high-quality essay writing. If you have little or no writing experience, no amount of theory is going to help you write a good essay. You have to work out on your own based on what works and wha t doesnt for yourself. ⠏ ³ 3) It Teaches You Effective Time Management One of the major differences Fortnite has from most other battle-royale games is the resource gathering and building mechanic. The pickaxe you carry around allows you to gather resources and build various objects to improve your position. Combined with the limited time you have until the storm closes in, it requires you to maintain the balance between gathering enough resources, building and getting to the safe zone in time. This is pretty much exactly what you have to deal with when you write a research paper. You have limited time and have to skillfully manage and control it to divide what you have between research, writing per se and editing. Quick essay writing isnt just about your typing speed it is also about your ability to work efficiently and know how much preparation is enough. âÅ" 4) It Teaches You to Think Ahead If you want to write your paper fast, probably the worst thing you can do is to skip preparation and planning and move on straight to writing. Chances are that you will have to rewrite fragments of your paper multiple times forgetting to mention important points and make a mess of the general structure in your paper. As they say, a minute of preparation saves you at least ten minutes of writing. The same goes for Fortnite just jumping straight into the fray is a surefire way to get yourself killed. It is a game that doesnt reward a happy-go-lucky attitude and taking chances without thinking things through. If you want to have a fighting chance to win a match, you have to carefully plan your actions ahead and prepare for the changing conditions. Thinking on your feet is good, but it is much better if you have already done all the thinking you need beforehand. âÅ"… 5) It Teaches You the Importance of Communication and Cooperation Although Fortnite Battle Royale is primarily associated with the Last Man Standing mode, it can be played in teams (and the original game mode, Fortnite Save the World, is exactly this a cooperative game). And this game serves as an excellent demonstration of the maxim that a team often can easily achieve the results that are impossible or very unlikely for an individual. A newbie is better off teaming up with more experienced players than trying to figure things out by himself. The same goes for essay writing. Although you can teach yourself how to write, some things can only be learned from experts, especially when it comes to quick writing tips it is very unlikely that you will stumble upon them on your own. Ask more skilled writers for advice, say Write my research paper introduction so that I learn how it is done properly, consult those who have already worked on the topic in question. All this will help you deal with problems that are too hard to handle by yourself. 🛠  6) It Proves You the Importance of Practice No Fortnite player wins his first match. With 99 other players out there willing to kill you, chances are that you are going to die within minutes of the matchs start. Only by playing a lot, learning new strategies and trying them out in practice, improving your skills and developing your own approaches to problem-solving can you hope to ever get a chance to be the last man standing. No amount of online guides and manuals can teach you to be better only constant practice can make you a better player. And it is a mindset that would be very useful when dealing with fast essay writing. You cannot simply read a guide on how to write an essay quickly and magically become able to do it. If you want to be able to write high-quality papers without spending too much time on them, you have to first spend a fair share of time practicing it. âš   7) It Teaches You That Even Great Effort Doesnt Always Guarantee Success It doesnt matter how experienced a player you are, sometimes, you just have to deal with bad luck. You may fail to find a good weapon or medical supplies quickly enough. You may be dropped in the same spot with a couple of other players. The safe zone may turn up too far away to be reached in time. Skills and preparation can alleviate some of these problems, but sometimes your luck is too atrociously bad to do anything about it. In this case, the best you can hope to achieve is to do your best, even if it is clear from the very beginning that you arent going to win and who knows, perhaps you can turn the tables after all. In essay writing, you can sometimes be given a topic you know nothing about and have to do a lot of painstaking research. Your work may be so uninspiring that it fails to impress your professor even though you spent dozens of hours on it. You may fail to write the essay quickly even though usually it doesnt present any difficulty to you. You may discover that youve mixed up your formatting styles and have to do everything over. Again, sometimes it isnt about your skill it is about bad or good luck. While looking for writing lessons from Fortnite may be a little bit desperate, it doesnt mean you cannot glean some useful insights from your time spent with the game. And if you are going to play anyway, why not do it?

Has ayer shown that causal determinism is compatible with free willin Essay

Has ayer shown that causal determinism is compatible with free willin answering this question you should first explicate ayer's compatibilism and then defend or criticize it - Essay Example Ayer, from her point of view, depicts that all human actions substantiate due to causal laws or they are not. Accordingly, if the causal laws govern these actions, then they are necessary or paramount. Alternatively, if causal laws do not govern these actions, they occur by chance (Ayer 255). Resultantly, one is not acting from a free perception. He depicts free will, and determinism are perfectly compatible. For instance, there are situations where one seems compelled to do something. According to Ayer, one can choose to act or not act out of free will. That is; one can choose to do one thing or otherwise. The position Ayer is that one act with or without compulsion despite the truth of determinism (Ayer 275). Most of the philosophers such as Campbell tries to show that compelled activities do not articulate any article of free will. However, Ayer tries to argue against that view. He insists that one can choose to do something else different from what he or she gets forced to do. The force is external, but the decision made is internal and cannot get changed. This is only different if free will expresses a different perception to act according to the force used or demands made. First, Ayer stipulates that when one is under a constraint, he or she does not act freely. However, the choice gets made. Such an individual may make a decision because of the constraint (Ayer 274). However, Ayer does not fully believe that a specific decision can get dictated despite the constraint. One has the option of making an alternative decision despite the decision made. Ideally, this position may not hold if real implications get accounted. Let’s take an example where a political confidant is forced to air secrets of a political party at gun point. The reality is that one perceives that the only option left is telling the truth or getting killed. Ayer holds that being compelled to talk out the secrets does not mean that one should tell the truth (Ayer 22). He or she has

Managing Change in the Workplace - Essay Example It is however important to note that culture is fluid in nature considering the rapid changes organizations are subject to at the global level. Over the period of time, there have been constant changes in the external environment of the organizations making them more vulnerable to change. INTRODUCTION OF COMPAQ Copaq computer corporation is the worlds largest supplier of personal computers and as a result of its acquisition of Digital Equipment Corporation in 1998, is the second largest computer firm in the world . The company was formed by two senior managers at Taxes Instrument. The company had come from Compatibility Quality. Position Of HP before Merger. Stocks gradually rase a peak of $74.48 after Fiorina was hired from their value of $ 54.43 the day before she had joined HP, meeting growth targets proved difficult as both the company and industry stabled As a result HP was forced to cut the jobs to ask employees to take unpaid leave. By September 2001, stock value had fallen to less than half of its level when fiorina was hired . so she decided to merge with Compaq. At that time Compaq in a stock transaction is net worth was 2 millio. And positon of Compaq is too good revenue increase. They do merge only for expansion the company. Main reason of Merger To compete with IBM and other companies The combined service business will have 65000 service professionals is 100000 plus for IBM Reduce cost Bolster stock Main aim of merger The main aim of the merger was to enhance the market competition. The newly formed company would be bigger than HP The combined effort would result in a big computer and software services business. The new company would definitely help the management to increase the number of customer in IT sector. HP wanted to enhance their market of computer hardware product. Problem of Merger The merger totally opposed by both the companies. The investment and the other stakeholders though at the company would never be able to have the loyalty of the Compaq customers, if products are sold with HP logo on it. Synchorization of organizations member with each other. Change in the organization which are not accepted by the employees. These are the main problem which come first after merger. The CEO of HP , Fiorina justified that merger by following point: Merger would remove serious competitor in the over supplied PC market of those days The market share of the company is bound to increase with merge. The working unit would double These points helps to unfreezing the employee. Advantages of merger Large the market share in the market and units of production also double. Compete IBM Both the companies would decrease as the internal costs on promotion, marketing and shipping would come down with the merger. New techniques or technology develop Company requires being consistent with creativity, improvement and modification. Advantages to the shareholder are as follow Unique opportunity Stronger company Compelling company Ability to execute Transaction summery Structure stock for stock merger Exchange ratio 0.6325 of HP share per Compaq share Current value approx $25 billion Ownership HP share holder 64% Compaq shareholder 36% Accounting Purchase Expected closing First half of 2002 Burke Litwin Model. BURKE LITWIN MODLE This is second order change. Its a big change for the companies. And all the features of second order change are used in this merger Transformation :- this merger is done on discounting bases. Both the company combine and form a new vision, new name , polices, culture procedure all changes. Redical overhaul :- Everything is change in one time so it si redical overhaul. Revalutionery :- Fiorna CEO of HP come with massive change she is one who ask about merger so, she come with massive cahnge So all features are cover under this merger so, according to me its second order change. In this Merger Transformational Leader is Carly Fiorno CEO of HP company Fiorno announced HPS plan to aquire the Compaq in stock transaction valued at $ 25 billion idea for the merger with Compaq a Houston bas maker founded in 1982 had grow out of a phone conversion between Fiorina and Compaq chairman CEO Michal Capellas IN JUNE 2001. By the first week of September, the merger had been approved boards at both companies. KURT- LEWIN MODEL This model include three points: Unfreezing Movement Refreezing Unfreezing:- for doing unfreezing both the companies firstly establish a sense of unrgency in the organization. Than analyze the organizational change need. So doing unfreezing CEO of HP explain that the need of change that what the company condition and its important for the company to make a change and also introduce what the aim behind the merger as I discusse above.. we can say what the desired state companies want the people of HP and Compaq see the gap what exists and what will exist. Than the people move to reduce the gap and achieved the desiered change. So that in this way both the companies do unfreezing. Movement :- The second step is movement. HP and Compaq really helped their employees and other member for accepting the change and new culture which formed by those two companies. They ask all the advantage of merger to their employees. So that it is easy for employees to move from their position. Employees see the advantages and accept the change and move further. Refreezing :- the third step but not the least is refreezing. So to give again same level of comfort to employees Fiorno arranged the meeting with investor or employee. Give more information regarding the merger. And also given more information to employees that now company will help in future. In meeting she said this company has never been about looking in the real view mirror . But Fiorina strat are as fallow : Tried to change the culture in HP Autocratic management A centralized Approach So, new CEO was Mark Huld come and he take following step. Educating the HP employees and manager to make them for talented. Exploting the possibilities of the merger Took inintaitives to cut down cost and layoff employees. CONCLUSION According this merger is right and good for economy. Basically this merger is need of HP. Fiorina knows that without taking this merger HP faces so many problem. So a very good step and make it possible. In strating she faced problems but afterwards she solved all the problems. But some of their strategies are not good and she resigned in 2005 and new CEO come Mark Hurd taken good step for HP. So in the end conclude this merger faces many up and down. But in the end it successful. And this merger is good for the world. 2ND PART PROCTER GAMBLE P G is American multinational corporation headquatered in downtown , in cin cinnan, quio U.S which manufacturs a wide range of consumer goods . KURT -LEWIN MODEL APPLICATION Kurt lewin proposed three stage in change management programmer. Unfreezing (preparing ourselves, other to change) Movement (transition stage) Refreezing (freezing the new change) In case of PG and Gillette merger following stage occurred as follows. It was basically the decision of CEO of Gillette that two companies were will established and project making companies so it come as a shock to all the people when the merger of two companies was announced. Unfreezing stage To carry out this merger successfully a term was made to carry smooth integration which contain employees from various financial areas experienced personnel. This special term selected employees (talented) from different departments of Gillette which PG wanted to retain. During this some employees were commenced with the idea of merger some left due job. To filldue gap due company does internal recruitment also based on enterprises of employees. Some valuable employees were not ready to join due merger company so several special packages were given to them. HR managers also worked very well in boosting due morale of employees. INTERACTUAL SUPPORT- Preparing employees for improving their marketability salary negotiation and interviews etc . LANDING SUPPORT- By analyzing strengths and skills of employees to determine career decisions, interpersonal skills, time management skill, organizational skills this training is given to every employee of Gillette whether he stayed in the organization or laid off. Due to this career transition supported and enabled employees to face the job market at least 90% of the employees who were being laid off got an offer even before they had left the company. FREEZING:- the employees adapted this change as the company was very cooperative with them. Even people who lay off also got settled down. For this strategic transition Gillette got DMA Erewon innovation award in 2006 also. This deal created by the CEOS created a win- win situation for all stake holders and set a fine example in todays dynamic business environment preparing HR people for taking challenges. BRUKE LEWIN MODEL APPLICATION:- This merger between the two companies P G and Gillette is a second order change with this merger the structure of two companies changed drastically as it is a radical change.. TRANSFORMATION:- due this merger PG AND Gillette transformed as policy, culture and produced all change. REVOLUTIONARY: CEO of Gillette wanted this merger they took the just step of merger between the two for growth and developing country. SUCCESS OR FAILURE OF MERGER: this merger was a grand success because more than a merger its a friendly move by both companies. As it beneficiate both the company due market after the merger increased. In this merger basically innovation was focused rather than scale. It is unique case of acquisition where in innovative company expanded it product line by acquiring another innovative company. It was described as a perfect marriage by some analyst. CEO of PG AG lafley thinks it necessary to overtake close companies especially in developing countries so he acquired Gillette and expanded its product line by adding some shaving products. After this merger the market share of both companies increased tremendously. CONCLUSION:- Merger of PG and Gillette acted as a boom for Gillette as we can see from figure Gillette market share raised up by 71.1% the merger is a perfect marriage of companies which contributed growth, innovations in the product line of the same. This was a driver that led to a bottom line growth from 15.8B to 26.9B. NOVELIS Novelis is the world leader in aluminium rolling, producing an estimated 19 percent of the worlds flat-rolled aluminium products. Novelis is the world leader in the recycling of used aluminium beverage cans. The company recycles more than 35 billion used beverage cans annually. The company is No. 1 rolled products producer in Europe, South America and Asia, and the No. 2 producer in North America. With industry-leading assets and technology, the company produces the highest-quality aluminium sheet and foil products for customers in high -value markets including automotive, transportation, packaging, construction and printing. Our customers include major brands such as Agfa -Gevaert, Alcan, Anheuser-Busch, Ball, Coca-Cola, Crown Cork Seal, Daching Holdings, Ford, General Motors, Lotte Aluminium, Kodak, Pactiv, Rexam, Ryerson Tull, Tetra Pak, ThyssenKrupp and others. Novelis represents a unique combination of the new and the 5 old. Novelis is a new company, formed in January 2005, with a new velocity, a new philosophy and a new attitude. But Novelis is also a spin-off from Alcan and, as such, draws on a rich 90-year history in the aluminium rolled product marketplace . Novelis has a diversified product portfolio, which serves to the different set of industries vis-Ã  -vis it has a very strong geographical presences in four continents. POSITION OF NOVELIS BEFORE AQUISITION Novelis was always a problem child. It was born in early 2005 as a result of a forced spin-off from its parent, the $ 23.6-billion aluminium giant and Canada-based Alcan. In 2003, Alcan won a hostile offer to wed French aluminium company Pechiney. But the marriage produced an unwanted child Novelis. Both Alcan and Pechiney had bauxite mines, facilities to produce primary aluminium, and rolling mills to turn the raw metal into products such as stock for Pepsi and Coke cans and automotive parts. But the US and European anti-trust proceedings ruled that the rolled products business of either Alcan or Pechiney had to be divested from the merged entity. Alcan cast out its rolled products business to form Novelis. It is now the worlds leading producer of aluminium-rolled products with a 19 per cent global market share. But in the spin-off process, Novelis ended up inheriting a debt mountain of almost $2.9 billion on a capital base of less than $500 million. That was just the beginning of its troubles. The situation is worse now. Though it marginally reduced debt, it made some losses too. On a net worth of $322 million, Novelis has a debt of $2.33 billion (most of it high cost). Thats a debt-equity ratio of 7.23:1. Soon, the unwanted child stumbled into another crisis. Novelis has a simple business model. It buys primary aluminium, processes it into rolled products like stock for soft drink cans, automotive parts, etc., and sells it to customers such as Coke and Ford. But the management took a wrong call on aluminium prices. In a bid to win more business from soft drink manufacturers, it promised four customers not to increase product prices even if raw material aluminium prices went up beyond a point. A few months after Novelis signed those contracts, aluminium prices shot up 39 per cent (between 30 September 2005 and 2006). To these four customers, Novelis was forced to sell its products at prices that were lower than raw material costs. These four account for 20 per cent of Noveliss $9-billion revenues. But the managements wrong judgement led to losses of $350 million (in 2006). For long, Noveliss former CFO Geoffrey P. Batt, former controller Jo-Ann Longworth and the finance team didnt quantify these losses. After the complicated spin-off from Alcan this involved extensive operations in over 35 plants in 11 countries and four continents the finance team also struggled to file quarterly and annual results on time. Many of the numbers it managed to file on time were wrong and were later re-stated. The board stepped in. First, it replaced its CFO and controller (in December 2005). When that didnt help much, it replaced CEO Brian W. Sturgell in August 2006. (It is still looking for a full-time CEO.) There are many more reasons for the distress in Novelis. NEED OF THE CHANGE Post acquisitions, the company will get a strong global footprint. After full integration, the joint entity will become insulated from the fluctuation of LME Aluminium prices. The deal will give Hindalco a strong presence in recycling of aluminium business because as per aluminium characteristic, aluminium is infinitely recyclable and recycling it requires only 5% of the energy needed to produce primary aluminium. Novelis has a very strong technology for value added products and its latest technology Novelis Fusion is very unique one and it would have taken a minimum 8-10 years to Hindalco for building these facilities, if Hindalco takes organically route. As per company details, the replacement value of the Novelis is US $12 billion, so considering the time required and replacement value; the deal is worth for Hindalco. SUCCESS OF MERGER Hindalco has undertaken aggressive plans to increase its capacities through capacity expansion as well as by setting up greenfield plants. Hindalco increased its capacity at Hirakud plant by 35,000 tonnes to one lakh tonne. When Hindalco completes its entire project, smelting capacity has increase by about 10 lakh tonnes. Along with smelting capacities, the companies are expanding alumina capacities and setting up captive power plants. Domestic alumina capacity is set to increase by 9.5 million tonnes when all the outstanding projects are completed. In 2007 about 1.23 million tonnes of capacity has come on stream, catapulting aggregate capacity to 4.23 million tonnes. Large alumina capacities have not only feed captive aluminium smelters, but also leave surplus alumina to be exported to lucrative markets like China. Currently Hindalcos production is tied up with clients. Also Novelis has similar contracts with its suppliers. But after 3-4 years it would start the operation of new pla nts. Then it can source excess capacity to the Novelis plants located in south East Asian countries. The merger looks not bad if the current financial valuations are ignored. Also we need to keep in mind that Hindalco is a very aggressively growing company, for it to build infrastructure that can match Novelis is very difficult. PROBLEM FACED BY THE ORGANISATION WHILE MANAGING THE CHANGE Buy- in and commitment from stakeholder: It is not only the C-level management which has to buy-in to the globalization change but staff at all levels. In the aquisiton between Hindalco lmt. And Novelis the people were involved in the operation for off shoring that do not buy into the initiative and influence other team members, creating waves of resistance. It became critical to have a high degree of commitment from leaders and managers to effectively communicate the needs to the off shore. Employee resistance: Any change is bound to attract resistance especially in merger between Hindalco and Novelis because of the politicized negative publicity and hence had a direct impact on the employee productivity. Complacement workforce: The workforce of Hindalco lmt were comfortable and complacement about productivity and customer service cost and therefore resisted to change. KURT LEWIN MODEL Unfreezing: The Unfreezing stage is probably one of the more important stages to understand in the world of change we live in today. This stage is about getting ready to change. It involves getting to a point of understanding that change is necessary and getting ready to move away from our current comfort zone. In this case, both the companies were ready to merge with each other and hence a change was going to be held in both the organization. Novelis is the world leader in aluminium rolling, producing an estimated 19 percent of the worlds flat-rolled aluminium products. Novelis is the world leader in the recycling of used aluminium beverage cans. With industry-leading assets and technology, the company produces the highest-quality aluminium sheet and foil products for customers in high -value markets including automotive, transportation, packaging, construction and printing. But Novelis has always suffered a lot of losses. Hence it needed change its system otherwise it would have to pack up from the market. Hindalco lmt.businesses aluminium and copper with annual revenue of US $14 billion and a market capitalization in excess of US $ 23 billion. It was ready to aquire Novelis because it had a high quality aluminium sheets and even had high technology but the company was going into losses. Therefore, the company had an opportunity to acquire the company and was ready to change and therefore it was following the unfreezing step of kurt lewin model. Change/Transition: Kurt Lewin was aware that change is not an event, but rather a process. He called that process a transition. Transition is the inner movement or journey we make in reaction to a change. This second stage occurs as we make the changes that are needed. People are unfrozen and moving towards a new way of being. In this case as both the companies Hindalco and Novelis were merged together. While the process of Acquisition both the companies had faced a lot of problems. The employees of Novelis showed resistance towards change in the working condition as per the working model of Hindalco lmt. Refreezing In this process simply, when employees minds move from Novelis to Hindalco lmt. then in this case Novelis have done the refreeze procees with employees because this time 2 different people come in one organization for work together that is why Novelis will have to definitately give some compensations, growth plans to their existing employees for

A Man For All Seasons Essay examples -- essays research papers

In the play A Man For All Seasons, the main character is Sir Thomas More. Sir Thomas is the Chancellor of England and a very religious man. Once, during a conversation with Wolsey (Chancellor at the time) about the King needing a son, Wolsey asks if Sir Thomas would like to govern the whole country by prayer and Sir Thomas agrees. This shows how strong his faith was. Sir Thomas is a friend of King Henry VIII, but when he disagreed with the King’s opinion on marriage, he was beheaded. King Henry was married to Catherine of Argon, the daughter of Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain. Catherine was Henry’s brother’s widow. King Henry and Catherine were married â€Å"for State reasons†, but although Catherine was pregnant many times, only one child survived—Princess Mary. King Henry needed an heir to his throne, so he wanted a son. He thought Catherine could never get him a son, because she had already failed so many times, so he wanted to have a child with Anne Boylen, but he couldn’t because he was already married to Catherine. Therefore, he wanted the Pope to divorce him and Catherine also, for â€Å"State reasons.† When Sir Thomas didn’t agree with the divorce, many people turned away from him. His wife, Lady Alice, begged Sir Thomas to agree with the King, just to make life simpler, but Thomas refused. He believed the he wouldn’t go to Heaven if his conscience was not clear, and his conscience told him not to just tell the King what he wanted to hear, but to tell the King the truth. This is just a basic overview of what happened in A Man for All Seasons. In Act I Scene 1, the book introduces you to some of its’ main characters. Sir Thomas and Master Richard Rich are first to be introduced. Rich is offered a job as a school teacher, but he wants to be in office. Sir Thomas gives Rich a silver cup that was given to him as a bribe by a woman who put a lawsuit into the Court of Requests. After giving Rich the cup, Sir Thomas tells Rich of all the temptations you have when you are in office—money, manors, villages, mills, etc. Then enter the Duke of Norfolk and Lady Alice, Sir Thomas’s wife, and Margaret More, Sir Thomas’s daughter. The Duke of Norfolk, who is Earl Marshall of England, is in his late 40’s, a sportsman, a soldier, and a great nobleman. Lady Alice is in her late 40’s, born into merchant’s class, but now a great lady. Margaret is in her middle 20’s, beautiful ... ...he last time she sees her husband, and she forgives him. In Scene 8, More is at the Hall of Westminster to answer charges of High Treason. They say that More denied King Henry the title of Supreme Head of the Church in England. Sir Thomas never denied this, but since he refused the oath, they assume that he is denying the King his title. This is considered High Treason, and punished by death. Sir Thomas basically gets no trial—he is guilty no matter what he says, unless he signs the Act and takes the oath. The jury doesn’t even retire to think of the judgement. They pronounce Sir Thomas guilty. More asks if he can say something before he is put to death. They grant him this, and he says that he is the King’s true subject and has always been loyal to him. Scene 9 is the closing scene of the play. In it, Sir Thomas is to be beheaded. Margaret is there, and she is deeply grieved. Her father tells her that death comes to everyone, and it is the course of nature a nd the will of God. Sir Thomas tells the Headsman to send him to God, and not to be afraid of his office, and the Headsman beheads him, and says â€Å"Behold—the head of a traitor.† This is what happened in â€Å"A Man for All Seasons.†

Diversity, Inclusion, Equality & Participation Essay

†¢Diversity is the differences between individual and groups in society such as culture, belief, faith, background, skills, gender, ethnic origins, sexuality, family structure, appearance, social, values, knowledge, attitudes and life experience of a person from any group or community. When it is conjoined with equality it is about understanding an individual and group differences and instilling peace, harmony, value and respect of diversity both in the community and work setting. Every person from any group must be respected for their individuality and for who they are. †¢Inclusion is used within an educational setting and is a term used for stamping out discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender, disability, class, ethnicity, faith or background. It is about recognising and understanding that all children have the right to a wide range of facilities, learning and opportunities. In other words every child and young person or adult must be given equality of opportunity and allowed access to any form of education and care by meeting the individual’s specific needs. †¢Equality is to make sure that everyone has the same rights as anyone else to make a contribution to society and to be treated fairly no matter what race, gender, language, sexual orientation, age disability, religious beliefs, social origin, marital status and any other personal identity. †¢Participation is when practitioners participate to protect and promote the rights of the child allowing them to express themselves, have a choice and have a say if they wish to do so, in no way should they be forced, influenced or manipulated to prevent them from thinking freely and expressing their opinions. Practitioners should provide clear information about access to resources and provision to all children and their families and even he community. IMPORTANCE OF ANTI-DISCRIMINATORY OR ANTI-BIAS PRACTICE Anti-discriminatory or anti-bias practice is to actively prevent discrimination via words and actions. It also prevents prejudice towards any group or individual. It is a fabulous way of promoting equal opportunities. Practitioners do this by making sure that everybody involved with the  setting is treated equally in a non-biased way. All policies and procedures must demonstrate positive inclusive attitudes towards all members of the setting regardless of their age, gender, background, culture or their needs. Every single activity carried out in the setting concerning children, young people and their families must be underpinned with anti-discriminatory practice by the early year’s staff as they play a major role in promoting equal opportunities and being inclusive towards all children. Anti-discriminatory practice is to implement the settings equal opportunities policy in every area and aspect of the setting from setting out activities to having group discussions. Practitio ners must make sure every child is included and they achieve the best. APPLYING ANTI-DISCRIMINATORY / ANTI BIAS PRACTICE 1.Providing dolls which have needs such as hearing aids or intravenous lines. 2.Providing clothing of different cultures for role play. 3.Look at wall displays is there any stereo typical images such as a female nurse and a male doctor etc. 4.Celebrating diversity by joining in as a class such as learning about and celebrating ‘Chinese New Year’ or ‘Diwali’. 5.Books showing diversity and equality such as a book about the ‘Olympic Game Champions’. 6.‘Mirror Activity’ by getting children to view themselves and paint/draw a picture and see how we are different. 7.Decorative displays showing no stereo types. 8.Dolls dressing up clothes representing different cultures. 9.Dressing up clothes representing different professions. 10.Variety of toys during free flow, encourage boys and girls to play with a variety different toys which are normally branded as ‘girls’ or ‘boys’. Looking at number 5 I would plan this activity keeping in mind how I can implement inclusion and equal opportunities. I would show them a short clip if possible or a book of the Olympic Games which shows the champions who are from different races, gender, age and needs some of the champions even use special equipment to aid their needs such as a wheel chair. I will praise them as they are so motivated, successful and have achieved amazing results. I will give every child the opportunity to participate, I will provide open  questions allowing them to express themselves and clear the air of any misconceptions they may have in a positive way. Hopefully this activity will promote a feeling of self-worth, motivation and sense of achieving positive goals in life. Looking at 4 I would plan ahead by doing research on the background of the celebration so that I can answer any questions in a child friendly way that the children may ask. I will promote inclusion and equal opportunities giving every child a chance to participate in the discussion if they wish to do so. I will accommodate for every child’s needs such as effective communication, provide support, promote independence and additional equipment if required. We will all look at books looking at the beauty, colorful art and customs linked with the celebration and attempt to make and participate in it too such as making a painting of a dragon for Chinese New Year or making a lamp out of clay for Diwali. Looking at number 9, I would play a game with the group asking the children what do they want to be when their big, I could show them images of people in roles that a not stereo typical. I can even wear items of clothing that may fit me such as a builder’s hat. If a child has not decided what they want to wear I can encourage them to wear uniform that is not stereo typical I can ask them if they were a girl if they would like to be fire officer or if they were a boy I may ask them if they would like to be a nurse etc. SCOPE AND PURPOSE OF THE EARLY YEARS SECTOR Scope- the extent of the area or subject matter that something deals with or to which it is relevant. â€Å"we widened the scope of our investigation† Purpose- the reason for which something is done or created or for which something exists. â€Å"the purpose of the meeting is to appoint a trust  (Oxford Dictionary)
